After a ritualistic bath, both bride and groom wear the Mundavalya, a forehead ornament made from pearls & has two pearl strings which define the togetherness of bride & groom. At this point of time the bride and the groom are considered as Lakshmi and Narayana.
Puja is offered to Goddess Gowri by the bride for a happy and long married life. Elderly ladies from both the families are required to attend the Gowri puja and bless the bride. The Bride's mother ties a ‘Taali’ to the bride and blesses her.
